spotmail gives you a short-lived address when a service needs an email for one code or one link. Receive the message, finish the task, and let the inbox expire.
Why spotmail exists
A permanent inbox is too much access for a temporary task. It collects newsletters, resets, receipts, and old conversations long after you need them.
spotmail puts an end time on the address. The inbox is useful for the moment, then it leaves your account and browser history behind.
One task, three steps

Keep the boundary clear
Use spotmail for verification codes, one-off trials, low-risk downloads, and registrations you do not need to revisit.
Keep account recovery, purchases, receipts, legal notices, and sensitive information in a mailbox you control long term.
Guest by default. Account when needed.
Basic use is anonymous. A browser-held token gives you access to one active inbox, while the server stores only its hash.
Register when you need another inbox or cross-device access. Your current guest inbox is claimed into the account, and the same expiry rules still apply.
The reader stays contained
Messages are receive-only. HTML mail opens in a sandbox with scripts and forms blocked; plain text is available when you want the quietest view.
